Coteaching Investigative Primary Science with Student Teachers

Coteaching explicitly brings two or more teachers together to improve what they can offer to the children they teach, while providing opportunities to learn more about their own teaching

It involves shared planning, teaching and evaluation of lessons

Each coteacher can learn from the other without even attempting to do so

This unit will...

Introduce coteaching

Give examples of student and teacher experiences of coteaching

Answer questions such as:
 - Why does coteaching work?
 - Why is coteaching important in initial teacher education?
 - Why is coteaching good for primary science?
 - Why is coteaching good for schools?
