Moving children on |
Children
work at three main levels when exploring materials. The child can:
-
Show curiosity
- Manipulate and describe objects and events
- Try
to find out more about things.
As the teachers work with the children,
they help them to develop these behaviours. The younger or less able children
should be encouraged to participate in the activities and talk about the objects
and activities. More able children should be asked challenging questions. It
is important that children consolidate their ideas. They need the chance to do
similar activities which keeps their interest and curiosity. Too frequent changes
in topic are inappropriate. |
