Visiting a Foundation Stage setting
| The
Foundation Stage setting can seem very complicated. Children may be working on
all 6 learning areas at the same time. When visiting a nursery or reception area
look for:
- Fixed work areas such as the carpet group area, book corner,
writing table, role-play area, water and sand.
There can be two types
of activity at these areas: - Teaching activity with an adult
-
Planned play which may or may not be supported by an adult.
The organisation
of one Foundation Stage setting can be very different from another.
