LET'S TALK

To show how 'Let's Talk' works in encouraging discussion, we're going to look at one of the three topics covered – ‘Plants Matter’ which itself consists of three sections:

1. Plant environments and word association
2. Plant poetry
3. Three environments: Rainforest, Seashore, Farm

Introduction to the resource

This activity could be used with pupils from age 9-11 when they are studying plants and perhaps at a point when they are learning about the importance of plants as foods, medicines, habitats for animals etc.

The activity aims to encourage the pupils to discuss some of the issues and conflicts associated with preserving forests, providing habitats for wild animals within farmland, food and transport issues etc.
