Learning from our AZSTT funded action research we have been able to develop both primary and secondary teacher training workshops which we regularly deliver via the Science Learning Centres. These are generally tend to be two day hands-on practical workshops. The first day focuses upon; introducing and explain the Levels Mountain and Thinking Frames Approach to the teachers, sharing a range of useful 'Kitchen Sink Science' activities and then giving teachers an opportunity to plan their own Thinking Frames activities to trial with a target group of pupils. About six weeks later, during the second day of the course, teachers get the opportunity to feedback and share the results of their trials and then practical support to refine and improve their use of the Thinking Frames Approach.
