Modelling examples of good paragraphs

We have found it very helpful to show pupils examples of model explanatory paragraphs which seek to answer a question. By comparing and contrasting model paragraphs, they can elicit the strengths and weaknesses of each paragraph. In this way pupils begin to appreciate what makes a good written scientific explanation.
