Think / Sequence

Think / Sequence

Hannah diver

Often children's verbal explanations are of a higher quality than their written ones. It is this section of the Thinking Frames Approach that seeks to enhance the quality of written explanations.

The Think/Sequence process seeks to support children to construct their own time ordered series of sentences explaining HOW or WHY something happens.

As they form their sentences, pupils should be encouraged and supported to check:

  • whether they have used their key vocabulary identified during their Brainwaves.
  • if they have applied their scientific knowledge identified during their visualization of their explanation.
  • that their sequence of sentences will answer the original question posed.
