Climate Change Schools Project – Putting Climate Change at the Heart of the Primary Science Curriculum

Project Summary

This project involved collaboration between the Climate Change Schools Project, South Yorkshire Councils and Science Learning Centre Yorkshire & Humber.  The aim was to increase the scientific understanding and implications of climate change at primary level and introduce action‐research as a new method within the professional development portfolio for Lead School teachers.  It also increased exposure of science using creative and engaging methods with teachers to use new approaches that allows them to bring science to life for young people by using climate change as a constant theme across different subject areas.

‘Putting Climate Change at the Heart of the Primary Science Curriculum’ involves a collaboration between the Climate Change Schools Project, South Yorkshire Councils and Science Learning Centre Yorkshire & Humber.  Together, we are increasing scientific understanding and implications of climate change at primary level to enhance the professional development portfolio for Climate Change Lead Schools teachers (see www.climatechangeschools.org.uk).
