The innovative aspect of this project was to encourage primary and secondary teachers to understand more about their respective pedagogies. Through the use of audio and video technologies teachers observed one another in action and created working links. It is believed that the sharing of best practice increased mutual understanding among the primary and secondary teachers involved. A major outcome of the project was a ‘teaching observatory’ which, by illustrating best practice through classroom video and promoting contact between primary and secondary schools, helped to improve student progression from primary to secondary school science.
