The AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust funds a range of innovative and cluster projects in the UK focussed on Science teaching. The Trust is rather unique in its focus, namely Primary School (~5-11 year olds), transition from Primary to Secondary School and early secondary school science education (~11-14) .

Funding Science Teaching in the UK
The Trust have one main funding round a year, typically the deadline is the first Friday in March of each year. In this round the Trust will fund innovative (development of new methods in Science Teaching) and cluster (implementation of these ideas in clusters of schools) projects that address science teaching at Foundation, KS1, KS2, KS3 levels and transition across key stages.
All projects will be funded for one year initially. If the project warrants further funding for year 2 this will be discussed with the Trustees during the course of the first year. The Trust recommend that all groups who are applying to the Trust for the first time contact the Administrator to discuss the project first. In this way the Trust will be able to advise whether the project falls into its remit and avoid wasted time in applying.
