Trust Projects
Greenwich Education Action Zone (Cluster Project)
Trust Projects - Greenwich Education Action Zone This cluster involves sixteen schools (fourteen primary and two nursery) located in two small Education Action Zones. Most of the schools are in areas of high levels of unemployment.
Overview
Programme
The programme aims to improve the quality of primary science teaching and learning for all the children in the Zone schools. It will:
- use learning skills in science to improve children's learning as a whole
- focus on current research into learning to help teachers understand better the skills involved in SC1
- work collaboratively with science co-ordinators.
The programme intends to use Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences to enhance science teaching and learning. This is based on the argument that if children can learn science in a way that is suited to the way they learn, they will retain and use their knowledge in other areas of their learning.
