The bid involves six primary schools located in areas of social deprivation, each of which has an above average percentage of children with SEN.

Programme

The programme is planned across all three terms and aims to employ the model of training developed by Liverpool John Moores University. The programme will include:

• improving pedagogical knowledge

• enhancing the professional development of science co-ordinators

• involving experts to assist teachers

• building continuity with the literacy strategy

• enhancing pupil interest.

It is anticipated that each school's pupil attainment will increase and that the development of investigative work will lead to the greater use of open questions.
