CPD Introduction
This CPD Unit shows how science centres can extend and enrich your children's experience of science in the classroom. It considers how to prepare for and follow up a visit to a science sentre, as well as looking at what the children will be doing on the day itself. This introduction also contains practical guidance for teachers who are planning, or are thinking of planning, a visit to a science centre. We hope you will be encouraged to see how your class could benefit from visiting your local science centre. This CPDU has been developed by staff at Techniquest in Cardiff but the basic information would apply on any visit. There is a whole network of science centres around the UK and there is information at the end of the unit on how to find one near you.
