2012 AZSTT Award Winners
The closing date for nominations for the 2012 awards was 5th October 2012. We were so overwhelmed with nominations that we divided the short list into two tranches. We are delighted to announce that the winners from the first tranche for 2012 are:

Society of Biology Award
Many congratulations to all these excellent Primary Science Teachers. They received their awards at the ASE Annual Conference in Reading on 5 January and have now become Fellows of the Primary Science Teacher College, which means they will be eligible to apply for AZSTT College funding to support their schools and clusters. The winners of the 2nd tranche will receive their prizes at the ASE Summer Celebration Conference at the end of June 2013 at the University of Hertfordshire.
It is worth noting that Alison Eley received funding from AZSTT for a project entitled "I can explain" last year.
* The Keith Bishop Award was named in honour of Keith Bishop, who was a Project Consultant for the Trust from its inception and a highly valued friend of the Trust, who sadly died in 2010 of cancer.
Why do we have the Primary Science Teacher of the Year awards?
The AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust aims to help improve the teaching of science up to Key Stage 3 in Britain. The Primary Science Teacher of the Year awards recognise and promote excellence in this area.
Winning an award automatically admits the Teacher into the Primary Science Teacher College.
