Nominations for Primary Science Teacher of the Year Awards

The AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust have sponsored the Primary Science Teacher of the Year awards since 2003 and traditionally there have been six awards, one being for teaching under difficult circumstances.

The awards recognise innovative and creative work that contributes to science development in school and engages children in the excitement of science.

Each winner receives £1,000 for their school and £1,000 for themselves - plus a certificate and ASE Membership for one year. Awards are presented at a ceremony at the Association for Science Education Annual conference.

Nominating a teacher is easy; just download the form (on the right of this page) and send to our administrator Sue Williams (contact details are on the form). Closing date for this years nominations is October 5th.

Recognising outstanding Primary Science Teachers is very important to the Trust, as all winners become part of the Primary Science Teacher College. The College allows these excellent teachers to develop new projects, undertake professional development and to disseminate best practice from their own teaching and that from the Trust funded work.
